400 North Ervay Real Wedding | Bridgette & Jonathan | December 8, 2023
We had the joy of hosting Bridgette and Jonathan at 400 North Ervay on December 8, 2023. We are so thrilled to share all the fun and fabulous details of their union. Enjoy!
Jonathan and I met on bumble. His profile read “A+ wedding date”, naturally, my first message to him was “will you be my date for my wedding coming up?” And the rest is history!! Our first date was at Paradiso in Bishop Arts and he was so nervous it was endearing. We went on many fun dates before Covid hit and it was actually nice to spend time together without outside noise. We got engaged in October 22 in Terlingua and he was a few days late due to nerves again, still endearing.
What were you looking for in a venue, and how did that lead you to choose 400 North Ervay?
We wanted it to be in downtown and while there are definitely some other options nothing that has the charm of 400 N Ervay. We loved the historic vibe and the rooftop is just stunning!
What did you want the theme or overarching feeling of your wedding to be?
We wanted it to be classic & elegant. Timeless, but still fun!
What were your favorite moments/what do you remember most about your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle, seeing his expression and his visible emotions matched exactly how I was feeling as well. Our grand entrance, seeing all our friends and family and seeing how beautiful the courtroom looked! After planning for so long you have no idea truly how it is going to all come together until that day. Everything was perfect.
I could rave on and on about how great our wedding venue was! Boxwood Hospitality is very special and made the whole planning process very smooth and enjoyable!
Looking back, what words would you use to describe the day?
A blast! Beautiful, and romantic.
Our guests kept telling us how good the food was! It was so delicious we loved the braised short rib and all of the passed apps were delicious as well.
How did you showcase your individuality as a couple on your wedding day?
By making sure the dance floor was always lit!! We had some of our friends who we wanted to include in the wedding dress up as Santa, Ms. Claus, and an elf and it was such a hit!! And we had the best DJ from Leforce Entertainment- Jake Bell. He listened to what we were wanting and read the vibes throughout the night!
What did your guests have to say about the event? Any favorite anecdotes?
They said it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve been to! Everything was elegant but not too stuffy.
Are there any vendors you felt were instrumental in making your day special?
All of them!! But especially Madison, our coordinator. She listened to all of our special requests and was so kind throughout the whole process. Our photographer was also especially amazing- Sadi Brooke. Her and her second shooter, Avery, were so fun to work with and she executed exactly the vibe and look we were going for- classic, elegant, and timeless.
Do you have any advice for future couples?
Don’t worry about what others will think do your day exactly how you want and have fun!!
Bridgette and Jonathan, thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us at 400 North Ervay! Every moment was perfect! We wish you nothing but the absolute best in the years to come!
