From Boxwood Brides to Valued Team Members

Here at Boxwood we adore our clients and we are so fortunate that some of them have decided to call Boxwood home long after their event has concluded!

Join us on a trip down memory lane and hear from some of our former brides turned Boxwood employees. In their own words, we dive in to their experiences with Boxwood before and after the alter.

Haley is a Sales Coordinator with Boxwood. She married her husband Andrew at the Trinity River Audubon Center in June of 2021!

How did your experience as a Boxwood bride influence your decision to work at Boxwood?

I definitely think my experience as a client influenced my decision to apply for the job.

While planning my own wedding I fell in love with the process, but I don’t think it would have been as seamless without the resources provided by Boxwood. Andrew and I truly felt so taken care of throughout the entire process, I loved the thought of doing that for couples.

How has your experience been as a former bride and now employee at Boxwood? What has that transition been like?

It is so fun to see the full process from both sides, from client now employee. It is apparent Boxwood strives to improve the process to provide better experiences. It’s enjoyable to speak from experience and contribute to improvements. I love being able to contribute a small part in a couple’s big day.

What is it like working in a venue your own wedding was held at?

The Audubon will forever hold a special place in my heart. Touring with couples that see the sparkle in the building takes me back to walking in for the first time. Seeing and hearing their excitement towards their wedding and potentially hosting at the same venue as I did, lets me relive that experience. I feel so fortunate that I get to visit my wedding venue and relive memories from our favorite day.

Why did you apply for a job at Boxwood?

Fun fact, I previously taught elementary education! I love helping others and the thought of helping couples find their perfect venue really excited me.

How did you feel about Boxwood as a company as a bride, and how do you feel now as an employee and former bride?

As a bride, each interaction felt genuine. Although Boxwood had several clients and many events, they always made us feel so seen, heard and important.

Now, as an employee, I feel I work with such genuine people who truly care about each and every one of our couples and providing the best experience possible.

Hannah is a Sales Manager with Boxwood. She married her husband Hunter at The Laurel in July of 2021!

How did your experience as a Boxwood bride influence your decision to work at Boxwood?

I had so much fun planning my wedding and we had nothing but great experiences with everyone during the process, so I thought it would be a great work environment too!

Do you have any fun anecdotes about transitioning from a Boxwood bride to an employee?

My day-of coordinator, Maggie, is now one of my best friends! I was so appreciative of her during the planning process but am even more grateful for the relationship we have. I know I can count on her to be one of my biggest cheerleaders, not just at work, but in real-life too!

Why did you apply for a job at Boxwood?

I knew long before our wedding I wanted to make a change professionally but had no idea what that change would be. Every person we met at Boxwood was so intentional and caring during our interactions. When I saw they were hiring, I decided to go out on a limb and apply – I had no relevant education or experience, but I knew this was an environment and culture that I would love to be a part of!

What is it like working in a venue your own wedding was held at?

It was kind of strange the first time I went to our venue for tours, especially learning so much of the behind the scenes! Now I get to be reminded of the best day of our lives every time I walk in the door!

How did you feel about Boxwood as a company as a bride, and how do you feel now as an employee and former bride?

Boxwood always stood out to us for how personal they made everything feel. We felt like everyone truly knew and cared about our story, even though we knew they probably had numerous other weddings happening that same weekend. Now being on the other side, it’s so fun to play a small part in our couple’s big day too!

Rachel is an Event Manager with Boxwood. She married her husband Jude at the Cliff House in February of 2022!

How has your experience been as a former bride and now employee at Boxwood? What has that transition been like?

My wedding day still stands just as perfect and magical as it was day of even though I know all the behind-the-scenes information now. I had a 6 month period between wedding day to working with Boxwood so the transition was very seamless.

How did your experience as a Boxwood bride influence your decision to work at Boxwood?

When I saw Boxwood was hiring, it seemed obvious to go towards that since I was already familiar with the Boxwood Client roadmap. I was coming from a completely different industry so I did not know what to fully expect, but with my personal experience on the client side I felt more comfortable going in.

Do you have any fun anecdotes about transitioning from a Boxwood bride to an employee?

Boxwood literally writes so many detailed notes on every couple that comes to venue even if it’s just a tour and we never hear from them again – this was true for my husband and I too! It’s fun to me that my very first tour at Cliff House is archived and notated about.

Why did you apply for a job at Boxwood

I really fell in love with the process of planning my own wedding and my Boxwood Coordinator was SO helpful every step of the way. I loved the way I was treated as a bride and how my family was treated so I knew it was a great people company.

What is it like working in a venue your own wedding was held at?

Surreal. Cliff House has had some small renovations recently so it doesn’t look exactly how it used to but it’s still just a little extra special being able to help couples plan their weddings in the venue I got married in.

How did you feel about Boxwood as a company as a bride, and how do you feel now as an employee and former bride?

I feel just as seen and heard as an employee as I did when I was a bride. Boxwood is truly an empathetic client-first group of some of the nicest, most understanding people I’ve met.

London is an Event Manager with Boxwood. She married her husband Adam at Cliff House in May of 2022!

How has your experience been as a former bride and now employee at Boxwood? What has that transition been like?

The transition was surprisingly easy! I’d just finished everything with my wedding, so was still in a wedding mindset. Once I started at Boxwood, I got to shift that mindset to be about other people’s weddings and it gave me so much joy to help them accomplish their dream big day!

How did your experience as a Boxwood bride influence your decision to work at Boxwood?

Everyone was so kind, fun, and communicative during my entire process as a bride. It was easy to want to work alongside people like that!

Do you have any fun anecdotes about transitioning from a Boxwood bride to an employee?

It was so fun getting to know all of the behind the scenes things that happen that you don’t know or hear about as a bride. It made me laugh to hear about how things went on the day of my own wedding!

Why did you apply for a job at Boxwood?

I had the most incredible experience as a Boxwood bride. I loved my coordinator and appreciated the way that Boxwood handled my wedding from start to finish. I also LOVED planning my wedding and thought that I would enjoy doing it for other people too. All of this put together made me want to give people the same wonderful experience that I had!

What is it like working in a venue your own wedding was held at?

It still feels magical every time I’m there!

How did you feel about Boxwood as a company as a bride, and how do you feel now as an employee and former bride?

As a bride I felt so grateful to have a team that was so well equipped helping me with my big day. I still feel the exact same way! Obsessed with my coworkers and love how we all communicate, have fun together, and help make people have amazing weddings!
