Trinity River Audubon Real Wedding | Kimberly + Bradley | May 29, 2021
On an unexpectedly sunny day in May, Kimberly and Bradley said “I Do” at the Audubon with joy and celebration in their hearts. All of the planning paid off to create the “classic, simple, intimate and fun feeling” they envisioned for their big day. Surrounded by family and friends, they hosted the perfect wedding day that we can’t help but feel thankful we were a part of.
We couldn’t wait to hear more about Kimberly and Bradley’s favorite memories from their spring day. Enjoy!
From Kimberly:
When Bradley and I first met, I was actually living in Austin. My best friend SarahLyn had just moved back to Dallas from Austin. I would drive up and visit her every so often and hang out with her and her friends. Bradley was one of those friends. The first time we hung out, he tried to hold my hand in a cab, and I pulled away! I was getting over a breakup and just had no interest in starting anything at the time. He went ahead and got my number that night “in case he was ever in Austin.” Well 6 months later, he was in Austin visiting his sister. He reached out and we hung out a lot that weekend. I was in rehearsal for a play and had told him that it was opening the next week. To my surprise, he drove back into town to see me in the play. The rest is history…
We were both very nervous and excited! We decided to do our first look before the ceremony, and I’m so glad we did. All of our nerves just melted away when we saw each other. It was such a sweet moment.
We got engaged in August 2020 and were unsure what was going to happen with the pandemic. We were looking for a place that was big for social distancing, and had outside areas that could still be utilized in the event of rain. We wanted a small wedding, so we also needed a place that had an intimate feel. What drew us to the Audubon was the beautiful architecture and the fact that it is surrounded by nature. The venue is right in Dallas, but makes you feel like you are far from the city.
We were very worried it was going to rain or be super overcast. Instead, the sun came out and was shining on us during the entire ceremony. We were both sweating and laughing about how the weather completely changed!
For the reception, I (Kimberly) just wanted a big dance party! I had so much fun dancing the night away with everyone!
I would say our wedding day was fun, and filled with love and happiness.
To future couples, don’t worry about what other people will think. It’s your wedding and your day. If others don’t agree with your decisions, it doesn’t matter because it isn’t their big day!
Also, cherish every moment. It goes by as fast as everyone says! Be sure to stop and take moments to breathe and look around and take in everything that is happening. I was intentional about doing this throughout the day and it helped me slow down and have a good memory of a lot of special moments.
Kimberly and Bradley, thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us! We wish you all the best in years to come!
